How Mizell Home Inspections handles your information

Last updated July 2026

The short version

We are a small, family-owned inspection company in Brooksville, Florida. We ask for your details so we can turn up at the right property at the right time and get your report to you. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it out, and we do not hand it to marketers or lead-generation companies. That is the whole philosophy; the rest of this page is the detail.

Who this applies to

This page covers Mizell Home Inspections LLC and the website at mizellhomeinspections.com. It applies whether you book an inspection, email us a question, or simply read a blog post.

What we ask you for

When you request an inspection through the form on this site, we ask for your name, email address and phone number, so we can confirm the appointment and reach you if plans change. We ask for the address of the property to be inspected, because we cannot inspect a house we cannot find. You may also tell us your preferred date and anything else you think we should know, such as a musty smell in a particular room. Those last two are optional.

That is all the website asks for. It does not take payment. Nothing on this site collects a card number, and we do not store one. Payment is settled directly with us at the time of the inspection.

What reaches us without you typing it

Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and the pages requested. That is ordinary infrastructure record-keeping, and we use it only to keep the site running.

The site sets a small number of cookies that exist purely to make it work — chiefly one that keeps your booking form secure while you are filling it in. We run no advertising trackers, no analytics profiling and no third-party marketing pixels. If your browser is set to block cookies, everything except the booking form will still work normally.

What we do with it

Your details are used to schedule and carry out the inspection you asked for, to deliver the report, and to answer you if you get in touch afterwards. If we need to send you something — an appointment confirmation, the finished report, a reply to a question — that is what we use your contact details for. We do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask to join.

Who else sees it

Your booking arrives in our own inbox and is stored on our own systems. We do not sell, rent or trade it.

A short list of others may touch it in the ordinary course of business: the email and hosting providers that carry and store the message, and, if a mold sample needs analysing, the laboratory that processes it. They handle it on our behalf and for no other purpose. Beyond that, we would only disclose your information if the law required it of us, or if we had to in order to defend our own legal rights.

How long we hold it

We keep inspection records for as long as we have a sound business or legal reason to — an inspection report can matter years after the sale closes, and Florida sets its own record-keeping expectations for licensed inspectors. When a record no longer serves any of those purposes, we dispose of it.

Keeping it safe

We take sensible precautions to protect what you give us. We will not pretend to more than that: no website and no company can promise perfect security, and you should be suspicious of any that does.

What you can ask us to do

Get in touch and you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct something we have got wrong, or ask us to delete it. If deleting it would put us in breach of a legal or licensing obligation we will tell you so plainly, rather than quietly ignoring the request. There is no form and no process — an email to Shawn reaches a person.

Other people's websites

We link out to a few places — our own YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram accounts, and occasionally to an outside resource in a blog post. Once you leave this site you are on someone else's terms, and their privacy practices are theirs, not ours.

Children

Our services are aimed at adults buying, selling and maintaining property. We do not seek out or knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

If this page changes

If our practices change, we will rewrite this page and change the date at the top of it. The date is there so you can tell at a glance whether anything has moved since you last looked.
